First drive, 993 Cup, NJMP yesterday
Took the new (to me) Supercup to Lightning Circuit at the NJMP member day yesterday. If I'd been paying attention I would've gone to the Schattenbaum DE over on Thunderbolt!
My first drive in the car and it was fantastic. Like my old 911SC "D" car on steroids. Amazing ability to throttle steer, what a concept!
Everything worked great, thanks Peter Dawes for the prep. First time in a racecar with doors since 2004. Felt just great!

So I learned Pete when I strolled over at lunch to chat w the DiRenzos. On the other hand, I'll bet there were ~10 996/7 cup cars over on Lightning although not in my run group.
An interesting study in contrasts: a member day at NJMP carries a $160 'asphalt' fee per day, so $320 for a weekend, roughly same as Schattenbaum. Meanwhile, the DE is on the better track, has one more run group per day, and, for newcomers, the tried and true instructor program.

The catering is an irrelevant benefit IMO.

Ah, Mr. Komar's old ride. The karting circle is tight! Great car. I enjoyed passing it at the LRP Club Race last year. ;-)
Seriously, that is a fine machine you have there. Drive it in best health!

Huh?!? Must be a different car; Keith assured me the car won every race no problem. Plus it's a 3.8L and everyone knows a 964 only has 3.6L so no way can a 964 pass a 993.

I think Keith's been busy at kart tracks lately, based on recent results...

Thx Joe, we are trying to do a full season of nationals with the FF but if I can squeeze in a race or two myself I will certainly try.
