Clutch Pedal Stuck at the Starting Grid - 997 Cup
Looking for advice / hints -
Semi-disaster at the starting grid in my last race. The clutch pedal on my 997 Cup seemed to have gotten stuck (basically went to the floor like when a brake pedal goes soft) then it wouldnt release the clutch.
I forced it into first gear - but the engine stalls since the clutch was still engaged. Had to get a push start - the clutch still wasnt operating (pedal still feeling long).... did a whole lap without the clutch.
I had to drive the car back to the pitlane, turn everything off, and restart - the clutch pedal finals came back. Unfortunately, it was too late - had to start from the pitlane.
I am being told that the problem might be the clutch master cylinder or may be the clutch release mechanism. Have anyone of experienced similar issues? Would appreciate if you can share your expertise .....

I lost the slave cyclinder on my 996 Cup a few months ago and the same thing happened... except I didn't try to get it back ... just replaced it as soon as i could.. certainly not in time to save the weekend

Thanks. Wondering if there are any other possibilities - the clutch slave cylinder costs over $2K. On top of the $10K transmission rebuild (replacing 3rd gear and one shift fork) + $4K for the new clutch .... I was hoping to avoid doing the slave cylinder.... Most likely no choice here...
