Default Race a cup in 100 degree weather?....

I've never driven my cup in temps that hot but we're having an early heat spell here in So Cal this weekend. It was 100 yesterday and will continue that trend all weekend. Naturally we're at Cal Speedway starting this morning where cups go through Nasacar1 & 2 up on the banking at 160 or so. I cleaned and straightened out the fins on my radiators yesterday, but I have no idea if these cars can survive in temps this high. Also I'm not looking forward to sitting on the grid waiting to go out....

Anyone with experience in these levels of heat? Any suggestions?....

I hope you've got a good suit, if not; Be positive - you'll lose several pounds

Cool suit and I've heard of race teams also using the medical freezer gel packs and drivers throwing them down suits as well.

It was 105 in the shade today, probably 120 on the track. Needless-to-say out times weren't especially quick. My car ran around 210 all day and I was reasonably cool with my suit cooler packed full of ice....

Tomorrow and Sunday are forecasted to be about the same and they're both race days. Thankfully they're only 35 min. races. We had 1 wreck today when a Yoko rear blew coming out of the banking. That was the tire's 5 th HC. Damage was limited to the area around the blowout and I expect that car to be racing tomorrow....

Of the 7 cup cars that ran in the heat this past weekend only 2 of them experienced any real difficulties. Both those cups hit the 245 + water temp range, got warning light and horns, and backed out of it. I had removed my front bumper and used a pick to straighten out the radiator fins and blow/brush them clean. It worked, I never got over 210 or so. It was 105 in the shade; 140 on the track surface as measured by my pyrometer....
