Default Brake Calipers

How often do you guys rebuild the calipers (fronts). After one season, about 30 track days, all of my seals were shot and one of the ceramic piston extenders cracked. The piston extenders literally fell out when I pulled the pads out this time. During this same period, I used 4 sets of RS19 pads and one set of Brembo GT3R 2pc slotted rotors. Any thoughts?

Depending on how fast you are thats seems a little early on the caliper rebuild. Our 04 car has not been rebuilt yet. Are your brake ducts still there? Sounds like the calipers are getting a little to warm.

Just my thoughts I am sure someone else who is more in the know will chime in shortly.

Ahh that would make sense then. Do you have the cup brake ducts? If not I would highly recomend them and get the 997 ones as they are a lot cheaper.

Mine went 3 years before I just got tired of trying to juggle the ceramic extenders back in every time I changed pads. Someone showed me a neat trick for holding in the extenders. Slide a thin piece of cardboard between the back of the pad and the extenders before you remove the pad. You just hold the cardboard in place while you changes out the pads. It works great....
