Recent owner of 997.1 cup car and while the hazards work, the indicators do not come on when flicking left or right on the stem. Before I go troubleshooting I want to know if they are even supposed to work, or it's just hazards only.

Turn signals are supposed to work on a cup. I've got a 997.1 and mine function.
