Default 996 cup Sachs canister pressure & rebound adjustment

Can anyone tell me what size, length, type of valve extenders are best to enable easier adjustment of the nitrogen canister pressures on 996 cup Sachs dampers? Better still, can you share pics of your set up?

Secondly, if I want to stiffen rebound (i.e. slow the rate of rebound) do I turn the adjuster clockwise or counterclockwise? The Sachs manual is unclear and contradictory.

thanks

I’m out of town this week but I do have the information back at my garage regarding the **** direction for rebound adjustment, I’ll post it here when I get home.

Regarding the canister pressure, IIRC it should be set at 250 psi and it is not intended to be adjusted.

Thanks Mike look forward to hearing your response! My set up sheets say 12 bar rear for the canisters (180psi) and 4 bar front (60 psi). It has been suggested to try 8 psi front. I’m more interested in how to actually set the pressures though. In terms of hardware, valve extenders etc. I have a high pressure gauge with a bleed valve on it but that’s all at this stage.

Since the 996 Cup cans are marked SPS4 Setting 11, this might apply.

I believe the rears are RD45-2:

^^^ nice info, thanks. So clockwise actually softens the rebound. This would make sense as to why the nose of my 996 cup stopped diving when I adjusted the rebound clockwise! Unfortunately I tried the rear at counter clockwise, clockwise and in the middle and neither of these cured the rear end bouncing. Will have to look at the pressure of the cans.
