Default Electric A/C retro fit

Has anyone installed an electric A/C system in their car? If so, what kind or what Parts did you use with piecing together a kit?

Yes, we installed one in our shop 991.2 cup. Used factory condensers and evaporators. Made our own ac lines. It works pretty well but is never going to feel like a street car inside.

Very interested to hear more.
Do you find it's adequate for 20-30 minute sessions, with windows in place, all safety gear on, and no cool suit?

We used the classic retrofit compressor. Same guys that make the kits for the old 911's

It helps for sure but its still hot in the car. Everyone's heat tolerance is different though. I only use cool shirts when its 80F degrees or warmer for races. Typically not for practices. I use the AC when maneuvering around the paddock or on the cool down lap after a session. We are going to install a larger alternator but as of now the stock one is barely adequate so I don't use the ac during the session to save from potential voltage issues.

Cory,
Great information! what amperage alternator are you using currently and what size/PN are you planning to move up to?
