Gentlemen,
Did anybody try to go wider on the 991 Cup front tires ?
Question is if a 30/65 Michelin N3 could replace the recommended 27/65 Michelin N2 Tire
Not only fit but also work properly without rubbing and without ABS failures
Thanks

As the N3 only is available since a few weeks i guess that nobody did it before with this specific tyre.!
I guess if you run a wider front-wheelarch and a different wheel offset it should propably work (since Manthey etc. ran wider tyres on the MR as well).
ABS should be no issue as you can simply change the wheel-circumfence in the ABS diagnostics.

Thanks Yannick,
Could also be experience with other tires brands
The 30/65 Michelin Cup N3 would equal a thread width of 323 mm and inflated diameter of 650 mm

We have run a 305/645 pirelli and a 310/650 hoosier on our modified 991.2 cup. We have slightly wider front wheels and changed some suspension parts. Front wheels are now 11in. We shortened the inner monoball, slide the upper mounts all the way in and put on adjustable diagonal links to adjust the caster. Its a tight fit but works well. Our next round of changes includes wider front fenders so we can push the suspension back out to increase the track width.

For whatever its worth before a test day last year I threw a pair of Pirelli 305/645 on the front of a bone stock 991.1
My 285s had not yet arrived and these were the only scrubs I had laying around.
We were actually messing around with the M4 ABS so while not running at race pace we were pushing hard over curbs, heavy on the brakes in bumpy sections, etc..
The car was lowered, aligned properly and corner weighted for the 285/645's. No rubbing issues in any driving situation and no faults in ABS when checking Bosch diag. after each session.
