Glen, would these use the same size wheel halves as the 996 or is the offset different?

Not sure, can someone share this measurement from a 996center please?

I'd still like to see a photo/measurement like the one above with a 0229052 center. But I doubt they are the same.
In the front both the 996.2 and 997.1 run 1" outer, 8" inner. Offset for the 6 is 46mm, 7 is 43mm. In 2006 the gasket ring also got a new 997 part number, but I doubt it changed thickness and moved the centerline.

3mm more outward shouldn’t harm?

^^ looks evil.

Sounds like 996.2 and 997.1 are the same at the front, what about the rear?

Both are 11x18 but:
996.2: 1.5 O, 9.5 I, 59mm Offset
997.1: 2.5 O, 8.5 I, 30mm Offset
59-25.4-(that 3mm difference) ~~30mm

^^^ so the 997 wheel will sit roughly 30mm further out on a 996. You’d need to run fairly insane camber to make that work.

Simon,

you’re lost. A set non modified 997.1 wheels, yes. But we’re talking only about the 997.1 centers which using the same inner and outer barrels as a 996.2, will only bring the wheels 3 to 4 mm outwards.

Widetrack, get that extra. 25 inch track width to dominate your competition...
696$ for the pair BPS confirmed will work fine on 996 using your existing wheel halves. Also stronger than earlier centers...
