Hi Joe,

Beautiful RS! Can the original engine and gearbox be sourced for the car?

Thanks,

JF

If you mean by "original" you are seeking the engine and gearbox that were in the car when I bought it, the answer is no. The engine threw a rod out the bottom of the block and left it a pile of junk. Roger Hawley at Orbit bought the pile for whatever he could salvage. The original gearbox was sold to Claykos here on the Rennlist in 2009 (ish). I'm sure original vintage gear could be procured if you were resourceful.

I'll sell the car WITHOUT (i) the Holinger paddle shift and (ii) Bosche Motorsport ABS for $79,000. Come and get it!

Bump and update. The engine is actually a 996 GT3 RSR engine bumped to 3.8 L (from 3.6 L). The original post listed it as a 997 RSR engine.
