If its like the 991 and 997's, its just an OEM windshield - nothing different about it.

Yes - stock windshield. I get mine at the local glass shop and the give me a street car unit. Not cheap but not bad.

996 cup windshield is not the same AFAIK. Substantially cheaper than the OEM road car. Cup car has a black border all the way around the sheild and a carrera cup logo on it. That is not to say that a non genuine road car screen wouldn’t fit. The road car has a trim piece that goes around the shield whereas the cup car does not, if my memory serves me correctly.

Same windshield as street car, just prepped with black border. Your glass guy doesnt need the steel trim piece.

I would buy the cheaper one, or the one you can get in your area. I end up buying one about every 18 months if I am lucky and don't break it sooner. I do run the 4 layer tear off from Pro-tint and that is a life saver. Before I started running tear offs, I could destroy a windshield in a weekend in the Western US since we have Desert Tracks with lots of rocks and no grass! California Speedway has so much fine dust that I have to "tear off" a layer after each race there.

So no. US Cups in PMNA Parts book reference the street windshield which is now only available at dealer and not PMNA.
