oeverheating during pink enduro at sebring
this weekend was my rookie race and I feel lucky I escaped all the carnage at Sebring unscathed.
a question I have is that I was struggling with engine temps (overheating) in my 03 GTC3 cup during the shuffling on pitlane (and a little at the super slow blackflag into T4/5) temps seem fine while running on track. i was shutting off a bunch, starting, moving 2 spots, shutting off etc.
how do others manage their engine temps and prevent overheating in a situation like that?

I was overheating by running behind another car, but we were bumber to bumper.
I had to move sideways to get clean air.
I have big fans, aftermarket rads, race fuel and still...

I usually run 170f water temp

Marc,
that car has brand new radiators and lines installed by Autometrics last year. I also ran high temp during slow laps....water temps in 220s. You have to manage it by running low revs and keeping the car in clean air. Make sure that your mechanic has seen the motec engine/cooling Motec. There is lot of info there

There was too much carnage in the cup group at Sebring this year. Ruined my enduro. I had to go off track to avoid pile ups and debris a couple of times. It looks like with an influx of new cup cars in the group, racers are not as familiar with each other. Although some might think that is being too kind, familiarity will help to go side by side into corners in the opening laps.

I love the CSF radiators. We put them on our car and never had a problem again. That is why we sell them at Demon Speed.
The aluminum side tanks are great too for durability.
We have them on sale right now. To quote the commercials: prices too low to advertise. We also have the Necksgen head neck restraints on sale too.
For both you need to use a coupon code to see the pricing. The CSF is CSF2018 and Necksgen is NECKSGEN2018

The other cool thing on the CSFs is that if you carry spares, factory radiators have a totally different part for left and right. So you wind up carrying 2 spares. With the CSF, a single radiator can fit on left or right side so only one radiator needed as a spare. Call Ed and get some....
