Default New Tub Reinforcements from Motorsports for Gen1 991

Motorsports has issued some new tub metal reinforcements near the rear shock towers. The point where these Cups have been failing recently and causing the tubs to be replaced. The kit is about $700 total. Attached is a pic installed. They are the metal brackets in the corners of the front and rear of the shock tower. You can see on Redmonkey928 that recently posted the damaged to his car, this is one of the points that failed.

Awesome. Thanks so much for updating us. Your post have been very informative and helpful, especially for those of us newer to the Cups.

Thanks for sharing, having these installed. A no brainer if they work, hope to never find out.

Installed another set today on a 991 Cup that will hopefully never need them. Just as an FYI the Scotch Weld 490 is way stronger in shear than standard panel adhesive so dont cheap out. The single 2-tube mix from Motorsports is ample to do all 4. Issue is that you need a special 3m gun to apply the mixture with some mixing tubes. You have another $100 to spend here but available on Amazon Prime.

Thanks for the info. Topp Racing is installing the braces on my 15 Cup this week. Curious if you painted the brackets? Thinking of painting them prior to install, mix small quantity and use pump to paint.
