718 boxster gts . Fair sell price
Hey guys
I have a 2018 718 boxster gts , 15k mikes I bought a year ago From a dealer , I am the second owner . I might consider a 992 targa or some other sports car with kids seat in back so thinking of selling my 718 gts before it loses lotsa value
the original Msrp on it is 102,000 , so wondering what is a good private party sell price , car max is at 62k
boxster gts with gts interior in carmine , nav, CarPlay, 18 way seats , Porsche connect , heated seats and wheel and pdk With sport Chrono and pasm
wondering what is a good private party sell price that is fair

Market is tight and 4.0 appearing on configurator won't help. From what I'm seeing, ask about $70k and accept 68. Just my amateur opinion from looking at market. Sounds like a very nice car.

As a data point, late last summer a dealer offered me never titled CPO 2018 manual BGTS for 70K. IIRC, it had ~250 miles on it and they were just trying to clear it out.

As someone in the market on the buyer side, if I were you I'd probably take the $62k and ease of Carmax and run in this market. I've seen 1-owner, MY19 CPOs with 1/3 as many miles start being listed in the high $60s to low $70s over the past few months. Been tracking the market for most of this year and have gotten a few offers for leftover new MY19s w/ mid-$90s MSRP in the mid-$70s (personally waiting until I find the right spec CPO to negotiate into the mid $60s). I'd probably put the ceiling around $65k privately.

I am going into to talk with dealer about one tomorrow. Looks like they are willing to drop 24% off the new price. So 99800 to 76.
Not sure thats enough literally as soon as you drive that off the lot it’s worth 55 trade in. 70 seems like a more realistic number. If carmax offered you 62 I would take it they were selling one with 5k miles fairly recently at 65. Many CPO with dealers have them with around 5k miles for 69

You have a decent local carmax I'd say. Mine offered me 56k or what last July for a 105k heavily optioned 4k mile pdk bgts, cracked me up when they showed me the number with all the goofy gestures as if they are doing me a great favor. I'd try a firm 64k posting here & ebay/cargurus, if no bite in a week or so I'd just run to that carmax before their offer expires

Try Vroom, I’ve sold 2 vehicles to them and they have always beat dealers/CARMAX/Carvana/etc.
Quotes can be received in about an hour and good for 2 days. It’s a bit of a waiting game as you have to send the title and key, wait for the transport, then wait for the check. But if you can stomach that it’s probably going to beat any other offers.

I'd be surprised if it losses much more value. Reality is new GTS is easy $100k+ and they won't be hitting the US until early next year. New T's are spec'd to high 70's+ so if your in the market for a car around the $70k mark this will still be the best option for the next 12 months or so and the value is likely going to flatten in this range for a while. I just don't seen the value continuing to decline, hits been taken, enjoy some depreciation light motoring for 12 months unless you need the back seats right now, if so, $62k seems like a fair deal.

Thx for the feedback , I am tempted to keep the car Till I get a replacement in 4-6 months , mostly 992 cab but not sure how much more it will depreciate , is there a way to estimate ball park depreciation per month from now on?

Not really, I would look at sales prices for 2017 vs. 2018 S versions as those exist. But I think depreciation is also more driven by mileage at this point. Looks like anywhere from $5-10k, over next 12 months so figure maybe $500-$800/mo. But also some 17's are higher than 18's so depending on mileage so you my only see $500/mo or less. Either way much lower than a newer 992 will drop,
