Default Any ideas on what size screw this is???

I am doing a repair to my convertible top and replacing one of the tension ropes that was outright missing. The screws that hold the rope in place are also missing. I have the replacement rope, but, does anyone happen to know what the standard size screws Porsche usually uses are? Presume metric... but just curious as to what the standard sizes they usually use are so I can at least narrow my search.

You can look it up on the parts diagram. Select your model, choose body on the top row, select the right diagram, and select the screw. Bingo

Been there done that.

Unfortunately the diagram shows the tension rope (17) but NOT the screw.

If it doesn't, you'll know where to go from there.

....... aaaaaaaaand. None of them worked.

3mm too small.... 4mm too big. Found some 3.5mm ones on amazon, worked like a charm. Why in the world would they use half metric!

If anyone needs a 3.5mm screw, I have NINETY-EIGHT remaining!!!

They do that sort of thing. On the first series 955 Cayenne, they used a single 5.5mm screw to hold a part in place. It was the only 5.5mm screw I ever found on the thing, and of course, it couldn't be removed without buying a 5.5mm socket (something also in short supply.)

I had to buy a whole box of 2.5mm stainless screws to replace one screw on a Diawa fishing reel... I'm well stocked for the future.
