I think the ability to get a salvaged 981 to start with will make this a much more attractive package as a Track/DE only car! As long as that Aluminum tub is not damaged! As well as motor options becoming cheaper/easier to obtain.

Will be interesting to see how the GT3 engine swap plays out as I can't imagine they would make it easy! The BGB swapped car with no rule book is my current choice for the ultimate DE only toy! Of course I'm one of those prospective 2nd hand buyers after the said major depreciation of one of these projects!

Grateful for all the Ballers working out all of the bugs for me!

A shop local to me did a 2012 caymen off the showroom floor and stripped/caged it. Powertrain is a grand-am Cup 3.8L with sequential.
All I can think is ultimate track day toy!

I'd settle for a close ratio gear box in mine.

If the A91 GT3 has a true dry sump with an external oil tank. I bet it would be adaptable to any A91 engined Cayman.

It took 8 years, but "never" has happened ;-)

Ha ha ha ha... That's awesome. I have never been so excited to be wrong. In my defense however never could I have imagined that internal combustion car sales would cease. The reason that this is happening is because Caymans are going electric and this is the last dance! 😢

For me, the above was almost as much a revelation as anything else in the above thread!
