Default Cayman 2.9 - timing belt / chain replacement

My 2009 cayman 2.9 has 27K miles on odometer.

When should I replace timing belt? Does it have belt or chain? How often should it be replaced?

Just checked the manual on my 2010 Boxster. It said to check it at 40,000 miles and to replace it at 60,000 miles

The engine has timing chains that don't need replacement. As was pointed out the serpentine belt that drives the accessories needs replacement at 60K.

Default Is the serpentine belt replacement only based on miles or is age a factor?

I’m looking at a ‘06 Cayman S and trying to figure out what services would be due soon.

How many miles on the car?

Does it have a documented service history?

Put another 200k on it. You'll be the first I've heard of ever replacing it.

BTW they do not have belts. Nor has any watercooled Porsche since the 968 which ended production in 1995.

ya, so to be pedantic, they have timing chains and accessory belts, but no timing belts. ....or accessory chains
