Wet door card pocket carpet 2009 Cayenne
Had some heavy rains Friday, when I last drove the card, some big puddles, but none of them felt more than 4 or 5 inches deep.
Car sat till this AM. Opened drivers door and about 1 cup of water splashed out.
Felt around the floor carpet, noting, the inner door seal had some moisture.
The bottom of the carpet for the door pocket was soaked, so this is past the inner door seal.
First thought is water getting past the inner door, into the passenger compartment. All my seals look good, but can't really see how well the fit with the door closed.
Anyone have this problem?
Checked 3 other doors, dry as a bone.
Thanks!

Thanks, the weird thing is the sill is dry, so I suspect it is water getting in through the top of the window channel and pooling. It is not getting into the car yet.

Pretty sure I figured it out, but before I give the solution.
Anyone know how the door is supposed to drain, if water gets in between the window and door sill?
As to the solution. It looks like my body to door wire tube was not sealing well at the top, and when water went down the "A" pillar, it entered the cars tub, and drained out just above the door base speaker, then soaked the fabric under the door pocket, causing the whole thing to become a sponge.
Spent 1.5 hours looking around and testing, and only that carpet was wet.
Removed and re-seated, seemed to double click and fits nice and tight.
This would explain the dry rust water I found a few months back that dried around the battery tray area under the carpet, when I replaced my battery.
Basically it is one of these that fed the water into the door, from the body seal that was leaking.
