Default Just did oil change and boost is now higher

So, I purchased my 2011 CTT with 15,500 miles on it. It's now at 17,000 on the dot and I decided to do an oil change. Went with my standard Motul Xcess 5-40 and now the boost is spiking up to 1.0. I never saw a 1.0 from the time I purchased the car till now. I think the max reading I was getting was .8 bar and that was just for a split second.

Yes, it's a considerable amount smoother and feels better, could be a placebo effect.

Thoughts?

It's good oil, and we sell a bunch of it. I've never promised anyone more boost from using it....yet :-)

Is it possible warmer weather is the cause for the higher boost? Altitude difference?

My turbo cars are much different in hot Dallas than in cool Colorado. Never checked the difference in boost values though.

What isn't a placebo effect is that fact that the meter reading is also higher. Never has the car hit .1 bar. It's not doing it. Also, everything I read states that the max is .8.

That's some magic oil you have in there that can override the computer to give you more boost! If I had to guess it probably has more to do with atmospheric conditions than anything.

or you knocked off/damaged a wastegate line so it's boosting more than it should?

No lines damaged in the oil change process. Just a bit higher readings on the boost meter. Whatever the case is, I'll take it.

Thanks for the replies.
