Default Lets talk spacers

Hey all

I've got a set of 18mm (f) and 23mm (r) spacers set aside at the local H&R distributor for my GTS fitted with 21" sport wheels.

I will also be getting a set of lowering links to lower mildly, somewhere between 10-20mm.

Am I making a mistake? Is the spacers too aggressive?

I have 18mm all the way around with 22" and I'm lowered I wouldn't go more than that.

From various threads I've read, most owners seem to be running 7-10mm on the front and 15-18mm on the backs. This is assuming you aren't running a wide body kit.

Also I have side skirts and a rear valence in which pushes the look out a bit more as well

Hey 155, I'm in Vancouver too, and I used 20mm spacers front and rear. Let me know if you want to see it in person. 20mm worked perfectly.

Paying attention to this thread as I intend on ordering spacers soon. Question though, I was looking at my 955 Turbo with 20x9s and 275s all around; is it just me or does the front wheelbase look slightly wider than the rear?

I'm guessing it's just an illusion, but man the front sure does look wider. I haven't taken a tape measure to it yet, but my need-to-know will force me too.

If it is the same (more than likely is), does anyone run wider spacers in the back than in the front to offset this illusion?

I have 21X10.5 rims on my GTS ET 45mm which is a more aggressive fitment. Front didn't need anything. On the rear I added a 10mm ECS tuning spacer and it looks amazing.

Anyone went with H&R spacers?
How was the install.
It states you have to purchase the studs separately, any details on that?

I went ahead with the 18mm front and 23mm rear spacers finished in anodized black. Installation difficulty is a 1/10 when it comes to the "DR" style H&R spacers. The DR spacers fit between the hub and wheel, the DRS spacers fit behind the hub (est 4-5 hrs labor).

The steps were simple: (A) remove wheel (B) place spacer on hub (C) reinstall wheel with longer lugs. Rinse, repeat.

It's the perfect OEM+ look without it looking too aggressive or pokey. Looks nice at standard ride height and will look even better lowered.

For wheel bolts the following was suggested by H&R:
Front: 54mm (item no. 1455407)
Rear: 59mm (item no. 1455907)

You can get black (painted) bolts from H&R but only the silver ones are available for our p!gs. I paid $7.50 per lug.

Awesome info, thank you so much!!!!

Any photos of the installed spacers please, I have a 09 GTS.

As far as safety, are comfortable with it?
Confident that the wheel will not come off?

Your're welcome. I have no safety concerns with the extended bolts in place nor H&R products in general.
