Default possible to turn off interior lights when tailgate open?

Hi

On a 09 Cayenne, wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to turn off/disable the luggage compartment lights in the loading area while the tailgate/rear window are open?

Thanks

On the 05 there is a button near the sunroof control that does it, I had to go through the manual while annoying people at the drive in.

Thanks...but on mine, the switch near the sunroof only controls the lights in the overhead console.

I found out however, that when left open, the luggage compartment lights do turn off after about 6~7 minutes...so that'll work for me I guess.
Still...on a gizmo ridden vehicle like this, they could/should have added a switch...to at least make it on par with the lowliest econobox

I would have thought the 09 should have the lights out button.

It is the push button located between the roof console light slider switch and the right reading light push button.

Yeah, I would've thought that too. But the slider switch only controls the lights in the roof console. There is no additional button between it, and the right reading light push button.
In fact, even the lights above the back seats are controlled by their own individual switches...which is why I was expecting another, separate switch somewhere for the loading area/hatch lights as well.
Oh well...someone thought this was the best way.

Sounds like it may be part of the comfort light option.

I tried turning the comfort lights off completely, but the loading area lights remained on.

It's just that it's inconceivable to me, not having such a very basic capability in an otherwise convenience/comfort ridden environment.
I was thinking that I must be missing something as I've honestly never encountered any other vehicle where it can't simply be turned off.

Honestly, there are a few other features/gizmos that are quite illogical and unintuitive, and while I really love the driving dynamics and it'll surely make an awesome tow vehicle, it wouldn't have hurt for Porsche to study some Japanese in several areas

push the button on the upper console controls that looks like a car with the door open. It will turn off all of the interior lights.

That would be button F in this diagram?

Proving, once again, there's a button for damn near everything in a Cayenne...
