Thought I'd update this old thread. Porsche dealer (Nashville) now wants $35 for a simple oil change alert reset. And having iPad/iPhone rather than a laptop or netbook, Durametric is off the table for me (no USB port). So I'm off to the area Indy to see what he'll charge to reset w/his PIWIS.

Sure Porsche knows how to run their business.
This used to work as some of you already mentioned. However, with the software upgrade sometime in late 2005 or early 2006, Porsche disabled this feature.

Confirmed it does not work with Sept 2006 built CS, which has the last software updated in Spring 2007 (not saying there was a new software release in 2007 but that was when I had 40k miles tuneup done at the dealer, and the paper work shows I got the complimentary software upgrade.)

IMHO a good dealer would do it for free - it only takes a minute.
Worked on my 04, thanks guys!

there appears to be other than durametric tools that will do the job. X-Tools has a X-200 and X-150 that will do it for approx $150 for the tool
