Default burning oil smell...2006 cayenne s
noticed a burning oil smell today. looked under car, saw drops of oil on the large metal cross member(support brace?) under the transmission.
something is leaking onto the exhaust?
any thoughts?
125k miles, im the second owner. car has pretty much been trouble free except for the usual issues.

Follow the oil trail upwards and see where it's coming from. Chances are good it's valve cover gaskets, but that's simply a WAG - you need to look for the source.
