Changing final drive in a tip
OK, the gear ratios in the tip are not great for acceleration, and I'm not sure I need a top speed of 165 mph anyway! Any tip owners tried changing the 33/9 final drive to something a bit taller??
Will it severely confuse the electronic tiptronic control unit?

I played with tips much but I would give diff ratio change a try...
The shift should be governed primarily by the rpm signal, and only looking for relative signals from the ABS and G sensors etc. I can't think of why it wouldn't work - it is the same as changing wheel diameter...

I know that some of what I was taught in porsche training was politcally influenced but we were told that the way Tip diff set-up could not be dupplicated in the field. I know there are some smart guys out there. Maybe they know something better. Seems that you could get more out of the shift changes though. I found it was always better for me to just put it in "D" and go like heck.
