Default PFC floating front rotors

I need to replace my front rotors and wanted to add more heat soak capacity by moving to better vented 2 piece rotors.
PFC offers them in OEM size for reasonable price.
Good vendor but there is nothing better than feedback from the actual users.

I've spoken with some track team technician and he said that on their track E92 pfc rotors were cracking like crazy. but they were OEM size.
the only thing that cured that was AP racing track BBK.

On my previous car i had Racing Brake 2 piece floating rotors. but they started to develop micro cracks too early IMO so i'm not sure about their metallurgy. didn't keep the car long enough to see how it ends for those rotors

so will appreciate feedback on PFC.

the car is 2010 Boxster S, front+rear ducts, Michelin PSS tires.

Thanks
Gennady

Default PFC Rotors/hats

Have never had a PFC 2 piece dimpled rotor crack on any car.
Their 2 piece dimpled rotors traditionally last very close to a full DE season before they have to be replaced.
I can put you in touch with a customer who is running these on a
987 Cayman S if you like.
Shoot me a PM if interested.
I stock all Porsche and BMW PFC applications.
I also stochastic all GiroDisc applications.

Correct P/N for both Boxter S and Cayman S is 318.067.87 and 318.067.88 This is the P/N for both rotor and hat which you need initially. After you have the hat you just replace the rotors P/N are 318.28.0061.87 and 318.28.0061.88. If you have any questions feel free to call. I have several sets of the rotor hat in stock and can offer you more than 15% off of my web price.

Got the rotors today.
Nicely done piece.
Was really surprised to see hats made from iron and not from aluminum.
Why is that?
I trust PFC have a good reason for this. Does it mean that other vendors got it wrong?

Please report back if you think they did any good for you or not. I'm skeptical that they make a big difference just running 20 min. or so sessions.

I had them on my GT3 (car in avatar). They do last longer than OEM. And the rings are cheaper to replace.

It's still not clear to me why PFC have chosen to make the at from iron.

If somebody wants weight savings - you can go for Racing Brake 2 piece rotor which saves 6.1 lbs at each corner, which is incredible.

Girodisc is for sure must be much less as they have aluminium hat.
So do Racing Brake rotors.
