"Parsing" a political term. you read to much into what i say. the power for the supercharger is "right now" it could be improved upon only by more displacement. hit it and get tire spin. in first crank the wheel a little and hit the gas you do a 180. the throttle response is to the point that i hit the rev limiter in 1st a lot. sorry if this offends but is hard to saw the wheel and shift at the same time. turbo draws less hp then superchargers. a function of turbos being "free" as opposed to superchargers being belt driven. in addition turbo tend to make peak power at a higher rpm than superchargers. porsche once had a car that was supercharged low and turbocharged high. simplicity it was not. if you drive on the street you will love the supercharged 911. make it a point to drive the red tpc car then decide if it is what you want.

Both my questions had a reason:

1. The only reason why I prefer supercharger is throttle response. If you had even slight lag I would not consider it.

2. If power would drop on high RPMs that would be indication of the detonation and computer trying to retard the timing. I'm looking at this kit mainly for the DE events at the track, so if it has even slight detonation it will simple explode on the track.

I'm little worried that 11.3:1 compression ratio is too high for supercharger, but I guess will see.

it was not my intent to sound flip. the kit is "right now" off idle. i did not put it on my car for track use. typically a turbo has been a better choice for track use. looking at the dyno and from what i feel the power does not drop at higher rpms. but the real gain is in the low end. mike told me he may track a supercharged car next year in the grand am cup. it will be interesting to see how he does.

Has anyone in the UK tried one of these yet,
or is there a Demo car ??

I'm tempted by the cheapness, but concerned by the possible big bills if it breaks...

Either way I can't afford it at the moment,
but it would be nice to know if I should add it to my shopping list

Cheers,
John (Woking, England)

Cecil,

Have fun on your trip. If you happen to come across any '01 M3s light them up and show them what happens when you cross paths with a blown 993. We will be anxiously awaiting your report.
