Post Replacing cat with cross-pipes in 993.

Has anyone replaced the cat with cross pipes in 993? Any adverse effect to the car? Loose or gain HP?

I'm assuming I'd have to put it back when the time comes to get a smog check.

The objective is to get a louder sound. Currently, I have RSR & Mille Miglia.

Thanks in advance.

Hey RT7. From experience, going by-pass pipe can cause problems.

Loss of power and engine light will happen.
We sent CARS DEWYDIAK in San Fransisco " sport cats, and " new software for ' 95 993 car.

Jim Capps , the Manager, informed us the car had really good power, with no problems.

Finn:

You've got a Supercup that you want to get rid off?

I've got 18" FRH wheels that I'm selling.

Check out e-bay, there's one set of 18" BBS LM being auction.

You don't want to do that to a street car. It is way way way to loud. Go to the Fabspeed supercup exhaust if you want louder, it is a much better sound. IMO

Thanks for the advice guys.

I just installed Mille Miglia tonight and it's a bit louder than my current RSR. I guess I'm a bit on the deaf side after years of driving with ES Tuning exhaust on the M3.

I'll give the Mille Miglia some time before making additional changes.

Is it normal for a new exhaust to spit out white smoke?

I have 95 model year 993 with 1 oxygen sensor and it works well with cat bypass. Sound is a bit loud to accelerate on the streets.
When braking with engine, some fuel afterburns in the crosspipes and cause nice rattle....
On even speed noise is ok, even at highway speeds.

Quick Reply: Replacing cat with cross-pipes in 993.
