Post 915 shifting

I am looking to renew the shift qualities of my 84 Carrera with 915. I shifts well but seems somewhat sloppy. Any recomendations on reasonably priced options beside the factory parts. I'm planning on replacing bushings and coupler along w/ any thing else that looks worn. Alredy has the factory ss kit.

I'm partial to this upgrade (with or without a FSS).

That's a very popular question. The clamp holds the adjustment of the Gate Shift arm on the shift lever. The arm mirrors the factory-installed arm on the 5th/reverse side.

Instructions suggest welding the arm permanently onto the lever after the kit parts are adjusted on the shift housing. There's no other way to accurately do this, even with a prewelded lever. Although the clamp is part of the installation steps, I shot the latest product pictures without it because of reactions about the clamp. The final product shot you see has the arm welded.

So basically, customers receive a slightly used hose clamp after they install the kit.

Regards,
Sherwood
