964 DME version coding
I was wondering if someone could educate me about the version coding plugs on a 964 DME beyond the scope of the Porsche workshop manual.
The workshop manual makes it look like the 2-Pin connector decides about Tiptronic vs. stick shift. The 3-Pin connector has three choices:
OPEN Cat ROW (not US+Jp)
+12Volts Cat US+Jp
GROUND no CAT
GROUND seems to disable closed loop operation. Does anyone know the difference between OPEN and +12 Volts in terms of what the DME does? Does it call up different fuel maps and/or ignition maps?
When you read out the chip you sure see multiple ignition maps and timing maps. It would be cool if someone could shed some light into this.

Pcar, I'm fairly new to this board, but having a '91-964-C2, your thread caught my eye- Have U tried on the 964 Area? There are several sharp guys that hang out & may point U in some direction
