Hello Folks,
Just wondering if anyone out there ever supercharged a 3.2 I have seen a few posts on sc's, but none on the 3.2
I have SSI heat exchangers, 7:31 r&p and tried unsuccessfully to replace the MAF sensor with a Link MAF replacement unit. Since I couldn't get the Link system going, I thought of investing in a blower. I also picked up a 964 twin plug distributor, that will be done if I decide to supercharge.
Any thoughts or advice??
Thanks,
Chris

Do you have access to past issues of "911 and Porsche World" magazine?
There was at least one article I can remember about a 3.2 supercharged project. Both went like the proverbial scalded feline

I dont care much for the S/C setup from either S/c of Knoxville or the TPC setup. There were some wear issues with the S/C of knoxville unit- but they have that sorted I think-
Personally i would recommend selling the Link as it is a MAF ystem and investing in a decent engine management sysytem- MOTEC m4 or m48 would work well- would also recommend the DTA system as it is comparable to the MOTEC but uses windows based operating systen and has traction control and a few other goodies at a near or lower price than the MOTEC unit.
I also dont care for the 964 distributor esp on boosted engines as the belt can and does slip- leading to timing issues that can and will destroy the motor. If you decide to twin plug either ecu will control coil pack or indvidual coil per cylinder ignitions.
Ideally(assuming your motor is fresh and/or sound) I would likely twinl-turbo your 3.2 using two smaller turbos- likely trimmed t-28s running mild- around .8 bar- boost, MOTEC or DTA engine management, coil-pack twin ignition, reasonable sized intercooler. The smaller turbos will spool quicker without running out of breath at the upper end. If you were to drop the compression of your motor to around 8 or 8.5 to 1 then a bit higher boost could be run. Obviously oil cooler and fuel system upgrades would have to be made, but your fortunate that the 3.2 cars are easily adapted to this set-up.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

hi , years ago i did buy a supercharger kit for my 3.2 carrera turbo look (1985) from german auto (knoxville tennesse, the kit was using a paxton unit , they claimed HP GAINS FROM 232 TO 350 )
they were making a kit with a whipie blower making more horses.as i told you it was years ago now the car is turbo charged its a lot faster but with blower its a lot of fun. <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" />
