I have a 88 944S that I bought with a cam tensioner failure. I have repaired the head and it is back on the car. The cams were damaged, I think beyond repair, and I was wondering since I am going to have to buy cams anyway would S2 cams give me any performance boost? I know the duration is a little different, but can't seem to find the lift #'s. Any guru's out there that can tell me what effect they would have on my car?

I had a pair of used 944S cams reground at Elgin Cams. They should be able to tell you the stock specs for both the S and S2, as well as their performance grind options for both.
