You might want to talk to Kent at German Automotive Specialists at 314-963-9911. He's a straight shooter who I use for my 944. You could also check with Ron at EuroAsian Auto Parts on Manchester Rd. 314-822-4010. He is affliated with Kent and used to turn a wrench at both German Auto and Reid-Vann.

Kent has parts. Ronnie has mail order parts.
The shop in St. Charles is good for Dyno's
Engine building I would talk to Klaus (SP?) at Lindbergh Motorsports (Most knowledge by far)
Reid Vann (North Manchester)can do some things.
Autobahn (Watson Rd) also has/d a racing background with 944's
He can work on P-cars and Audi all day.
GLB- (Big Ben Blvd.) Only used to do a Timing belt on a 928
Auto's of Europe on W Manchester. Never used but a friend uses him for his cars.

You will be hard pressed to find someone in the area that will be an outright performance shop.
I got my parts from others not in the area and was able to get them installed at Autobahn, The mechanic that did my work (extensive) is now at
Reid Vann. Not endorsing anyone, just giving some ideas. You may try the Chicago area as well.
By far the Person That helped me beyond compare was Steve Weiner at Rennsport Systems, I am endorsing him, he has forgotten what most claim to know.
Good luck.

Isn't Imagine Auto down there? (I've never worked with them, perhaps someone else has a review)
