Question start w/ turbo or NA?

im looking at a twincharging (sc and turbo) setup for my porsche....

i was wondering whether it would be easier to start on a 964 NA or 3.3 turbo

(wondering if it is worth modding the 3.3 to fit a sc or just start on a clean slate)...

if you guys could help me with this that would be great

a lot....
if i could get away with it i'd just sc it, but for the power i want it'd be too much for the engine.

say money isn't an issue....

then get a 993 tt motor

but seriously, If you plan on buying rods and pistons. I dont see why it should matter? Except when it comes to lubing the turbo.......... I would go for the 3.3 motor myself

Just from the standpoint of someone who's been looking into turbocharging a NA motor I think you'd be better off starting with a turbo motor. Remember 911's don't have watercooling to help disipate the heat generated by forced induction, it is my understanding that the factory addressed these issues through the use of different metallurgy and cooling dynamics, an advantage a NA motor wouldn't have. Another is that, at least in my opinion, adding a SC to a turbo would be a lot easier than adding both to a NA motor. An added bonus will be the factory lower compression and forced induction cam grind. Let me know how you progress.

i guess why worry about doing both to an NA when i could have the turbos already setup....

3.3 would be cheaper and i'd be able to afford it...but then again the 993tt is very attractive....

i'll let you know how it goes

thanks for the help
