Corbeau Forza seats are NOT what you are looking for, if you want reasonable comfort on the street. They are a lightweight seat with steel tube construction, and make great track seats for DE's, and adequate for Club Racing, but you won't want to go cruising in them.

If I was looking for a combination street/track seat, I think it would be Recaro SPD's for me.

Regards,

When I installed the SRD's in my SC, I used the stock locking slider on the left, and added a stock locking slider from the right seat, so I would have dual locking sliders (a safety consideration for the track). Of course there was the slight humor quotient when someone tried to adjust the seat and didn't know they had to pull on two levers.

On my C2, I didn't find stock sliders with dual locking sides that would fit, so I went with the Recaro sliders. I can look up the number and where I got them from if anyone needs that.

I am very fond of the Recaro-sourced factory GT3 seat. Excellent at the track, and very comfortable on the street - drove 9 hours to RA two weeks ago without a backache.

Thanks everyone for all the useful input (customary on Rennlist).

I think that I have decided on the Recaro "Sport". They cost a bit more than the SPD, however I like the look of the seat as well as the lumbar and recline features.

Anir, those sport seats are gorgeous!

Anir,

Those seats are even nicer looking in person. I would have a set for inside the house also. They would come in handy when football season starts back up and I need to be strapped in for when the "local" teams F up.

For future reference:
SRD = reclining back model
SPG = hard shell race seat

Hi Rich,
Is the Sport available with a substrap hole?

Chris,

No. The substrap slot is an available option with the SRD, but not on the Recaro Sport.

When I get the seats, I may have the slot added by a local auto interior specialist.

Another option for the fifth point is a belt that with fastening points under the front seat rail bolts. This type of belt was included with the Deist harness I bought from Stable Energies two years ago. I may have to go this route, if I can't have the slot made in the traditional location for the substrap.

I'll report back when I get the new seats installed.

Our PCA region had a safety seminar at HMS Motorsports this spring. They had a third option that uses a six point system. The two sub straps go back to either lap belt mount point and you end up sitting on the straps then buckling them into the hub. This a similar to what is used in formula cars and can be used with stock seats.

FYI, Gert now has the GT3 seats with the carbon fiber shell. I have these and they do save a few more pounds. He also has the seats with alcantera leather covered cushions.

I have a sparco evo 2 in my daily driver. I find it more comfy than the stock seat, Just a little bit more hassle getting in and out!
