Question Modifying rotor

I need to delete the resistor in the factory ignition rotor on my car.

Can anyone take a stab at recommending materials and a procedure for doing so in a manner that would resist the heat and stresses following installation?

I just need to eliminate the resistor and run a straight contact to convey the spark energy.

OK, so anyway.
Using a piece of primary wire soldered on didn't work, too bulky.
I ended up finding some un-coated brass "fuse holders' in the hardware store's automotive electronics carousel. Adjusted a couple of the bends in the piece and soldered it on, working perfectly thus far. If my rookie-solders hold up.
