Default Recoating Alusil Cylinders

I have a set of Alusil cylinders for a 3.0 liter 911 (95mm bore). EBS offers a service where they bore and re-coat the Alusil cylinders with Nikasil. I plan to use J&E pistons. Has anyone had any experience with this. Thanks.

Hi Tom:

I've not used EBS for this, but we also bore these oversize and have them re-plated with Nikasil and its quite successful.

We bore them in a torque plate fixture to ensure that the cyiinder stay round when its all installed and attached to the heads.

What is the cost for a set of 6 cylinders? What is the turnaround time? Thanks for your help. I always appreciate your posts, they are very accurate and helpful.
