DE, track day car advice
Looking for some advice on a good car for DE and trackdays. I own a very clean 993 Carrera "S" that I will not track day. I would like another 911 for that purpose.
I want to keep the expenditure reasonable. I like911's and have seen a '72 with a 3.0SC motor and 915 gearbox set up with a cage, firesystem etc. that was still street legal (don't want to have to trailer the car). Is this a good/bad setup for this purpose?
I am a liscensed SCCA racer with 3 years in Formula cars. Due to time constraints I can't be running off for 3 day weekends every month, but I do miss going to the track. I also like having a "project" car. I have decided that occasional track days and DE's would fit my schedule and desires better. I just need some help deciding on the right tool for the job.
