Default Where to build Bilstein/H&R dampers ?

For my personal project I need to have a second damper like the one in the attached pictures. This is a front one, I need one more !
It looks to be built from a 996 absorber and is probably, since it's from the '98 GT1.

Who can I ask this ?

Thanks for any address/contact

Those are custom double-adjustable Bilsteins and look to be for a car with pull rods (such as the GT-1). Thats a 100mm, 3543 lbs/inch spring,....

Bilstein (Germany) might help, but I'd contact Porsche Motorsports in Stuttgart first.

Thanks !
Yes they are GT1 98 so with pushrods.
Too bad, I was still living in europe 3 months ago... would have been easier to make a jump in Stuttgart.
Did you directly get the length and strength of the springs from the reference on it ?

One other thing, since you look to be an expert :

This is a set of 959 Dakar dampers. I need to change them for my 961 project (see my page) :

Do you have any idea of who could build them ?

Hi:

I have a LOT of suspension information here as thats my business,....

If those are Bilstein shocks (and they certainly appear to be), I'd would contact Bilstein USA in San Diego and ask them to do that for you. Be sure you know precisely what you want as their valving recommendations are not great for Porsche cars,....

They can rebuild them exactly as they are though,......

Steve,

I don't mean to hijack this topic, but why do you say Bilstein valving recommendations are not great for Porsches? Is valving not just a function of spring rate and weight of car?

Joel:

There are many factors that affect the choice of valving; spring rates, suspension motion ratios, ride frequencies, vehicle weight and usage.

This is why adjustable shocks that permit independent adjustment of bump & rebound are popular.

It takes a fair amount of experience to learn what shock valving packages work well with different spring rates on different cars. IMHO, Bilstein's 911 valving is not ideal and there are better choices.

I cannot speak for any other Porsche applications as I have little to no experience with the front engine cars.
