Polopolus Engine - got one?

Anyone have or know of someone who has a 911/4 Polopolus engine? I am thinking of heading in that direction, would like to get some opinions / experiences.

If I remember correctly, ain't that a 911 6 cyl that is cut down to 4 cyls?

thats right - it is a new block with the center 2 cylinders missing, new crank, off-the shelf parts for most everything else.

Other than an interesting engineering challenge, why would you want two less cylinders?

minimal weight gain from current 4-cyl engine, extra 80 to 90 HP to around 180-190hp total, 2000lbs = "move over on the time trial track and let me by"
