Default How to size sway bars?

What is the best way to determine need for sway bar size. Assuming adustability for fine tuning, do you use overall weight, distribution, spring rate or what combination of these?

Are there any guides? Like below 2300lbs you should likely go with 22mm bars and if your 3000lbs then you should consider 27mm bars? I know that there are different theories about stiff springs with minimal sway bars and vice versa. I'm looking at this from a DE/street car.

Are people minimizing the need for sway's by running "enough" spring rate or are you finding more need to counter act the additional g loads?

I'm sure there are opinions, so lets HEAR them!

Luke:

Yes,...

Seriously tho, all of those things including wheel/tire sizes, what the car is used for, and driver skills, experience and preferences all factor into making the best choice about bars.

One designs and configures a suspension setup by choosing spring rates, shock valving, and swaybar sizes so that they all work together. Bigger is NOT always better, depending on the application.

Bottom line: It takes experience to make the right decisions about bars,.........

What type of Porsche are you driving? There's lots published about what works for suspension improvements for the various models.
