Hey, I have tried to research the possibility of upgrading my 1999 Boxster base with a 74mm throttle body, since I have heard it is a plug-and-play (to gain a little horsepower and torque). When I stated to look around at throttle bodies, there are two different kinds: drive by wire, and mechanical. I have read some that say it does not matter which one you buy and that the drive by wire throttle body will work on my 986. I am trying to discern the difference before purchasing a larger throttle body.

Can anyone tell me which one I need to buy and the best place to buy it?
