Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Style Carbon Fiber Intake
#16
Very cool project! I was hoping someone would create a kit like this. Keeping my eye on this for sure.
Any plans for a plastic version (at least for the window scoops)? I don't have any other carbon on the exterior so I'd prefer to match the stock black plastics. Inside the carbon is fine due to carbon buckets/interior trim etc.
Looking forward to seeing real world numbers as well. Intake temps, power increases etc.

But we can custom paint the outside parts in matte/satin black so it matches the look of other plastic surfaces.

Making of positive molds
Our subsequent goal was to transform the virtual design into a tangible reality. To achieve this, we initiated the process by creating positive molds for each component of the intake system.
For the window scoops and the trumpets, we utilized 3D printing technology to fabricate the molds, while the larger components were milled from Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF).
Extensive efforts were dedicated to sanding, applying epoxy and primer, and coating the molds with a release agent, ensuring that the components were prepared for the subsequent carbon fiber mold manufacturing stage.

I love this and it is insane. I totally get why you'd connect to the stock intake location rather than having to modify the intake manifold to use a top mounted TB like the RS.
I think we're all excited to see the finished product and some test numbers.

Here on Rennlist we are posting more of a detailed process description, which is a bit delayed.

Can you post that video of the intake noise outside of a story so I can watch it over and over
