I had this 1983 model LSD installed in my 1989 928 S4 for about 40K miles when the automatic transmission failed. I recently swapped in another transmission with LSD, so this LSD is now for sale. This LSD will fit any model year 928 from 1983 to 1989.

It comes with a 1983-5 rear differential cover which you will need if you install this LSD into a 1986-9 928, as there was a change in the location of the magnetic speedometer sender wheel and sensor in 1986. I documented this somewhat obscure fact in this thread on the 928 forum:

Although I did not disassemble the LSD before installing it, I'm quite certain it is a 1983 8 disc diff. I did check the breaking torque before installation and it was about 40 ft-lb. I did not test it recently. Here is a relevant thread which helps establish that this is an 83 8 disc.

I include the ring gear because I don't want to fuss with it further. You will need to install the ring gear from your differential and do other setup steps to get the diff properly installed.
