Hi TTSurgeon,
I have never installed one so I cannot answer that question. There are several posts out there on RL and the other big P site. Its seems a lot of folks have been doing the swap of late with success.

From what I have read swapping in PCM 3.0 in a PCM 2.1 equipped car requires a lot of work. The car will require a Bose Amp from a PCM 3.0 system and the wiring harness will require to be repinned. It is all detailed in this thread:
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...sion-done.html
It is quite in-depth and will require a lot of research to get it done right. Not for the feint of heart...
This is something I would love to do down the road once I have completed my research on the project...

cakM3...I updated the PCM 3.0 FS thread with the info below...I gues I should have updated this one as well.
Below is a picture from the top of the head unit. This unit is fully loaded and has and MSRP of $4,465.
At $1,000 dollars that's a savings of 77.6%....
Best,
VID
For those who have inquired about the BOSE AMP, MSRP is $1042...I'll sell it for $500, shipping included. (USA ONLY)

VID, if I didn't have so many projects going on right now I would be looking to buy your head unit and amp from you right now... seriously. The rewiring that is needed for the amp can be easily done if you have done electrical work before.
I think what you're offering to sell is more than reasonable. I just want people to be aware that PCM 3.0 is not plug and play with PCM 2.1 equipped cars.
