I can't speak highly enough about Felix and Kline. They
are working on a complete exhaust with headers and a
custom tuning package for me as we speak. Absolutely fantastic
folks to deal with. Ill post a write up with pictures when
I receive everything and get it installed. Phil

A few questions...
Hi Felix,
Your exhaust systems look really nice. I had a few questions:
1) There is a wide range of cats in varying quality available that will last a long time or degrade quicker. What quality cats do you use in your system ?
2) What is the back pressure your 200 cell 996 Turbo system generates ?
3) What is the db noise level of that exhaust ?
Thanks

Hi
Thanks for the complement, yeah we take great care designing and building our systems.
Yeah your right, there are a wide variety of cats out there, and quality does vary greatly. catalytic metal compositions (rubidium platinum content) varies, as well as cell rating and dimensions, these all have an impact on efficiency, and the latter two also affect torque curves significantly, not always in the linear relationship you might expect.
We use EEC 60g loading cats for most of our systems, these have a very high concentration of catalytic material. although we can tailor any cats you might desire into the system. decats are also available in a variety of sizes (again affects where peak torque will lye) that can simply bolt in or out of the system in 30 mins or so. of course the decats give the best torque curve and peak power gain.
We don't actually measure back pressure in the typical way, its a little bit out dated really to suppose that there might be a uniform pressure within the system. in fact its a hugely complex differential mathmatical problem to calculate any pressure at any given place and time at a certain rev region, and with varying designs. we use computational fluid dynamics modelling to hone the best design for each system. In fact, at certain rev regions, loading, and gas throughput, it's possible to induce vacuum at certain points after the turbo, accelerating spool. again this is something that can be tuned to the customers requirements.
different versions of the system vary in db level, depending on the customers spec they would like. but our usual design de-catted (loud) system, at 45000 rpm, standing, 1 meter from the tailpipe, is 84DB. but again, we can tailor to your requirements.
I hope this helps.
