When I started tracking my Porsche, my youngest son took a real interest in it and started going with me to 3 or so events a year. I bought a kart for him that he ran for 2 years here in NJ as well as the karting tracks next to VIR and Mosport. I spent over $5,000 for this set-up in 2008, but my son has outgrown it and I need to get it out of the garage, so I'm pricing it to move quickly.

This is a complete turnkey set-up for an 8-12 year-old for fun or competition. Everything needed to get started is here, including a track-ready kart featuring an Italian-made EKS chassis, Comer K-80 engine, kart stand, starter, 20 pounds of lead weight, tire pressure gauge and extra chain/sprocket. There are approximately 30 hours on the engine and the chassis has approximately 50 hours on track.

This kart can run in either WKA or IKF. The Comer-80 is the most popular engine for the J1/Sportsman class. Included:
• EKS Cadet-class chassis, made in Italy; includes gas tank, seat, rear disk-brakes;
• Comer K-80 engine, made in Italy; includes carburetor and two-hole air box;
• Streeter Kart stand; powder-coated with pneumatic tires;
• Coleman Type 2 external starter;
• 20 pounds of lead weights;
• Dust cover;
• Extra sprocket/chain and tire pressure gauge.

The kart is in very good condition and was run by my son in practice sessions only – never raced. The engine runs good and everything on the kart works, with the exception of the brakes. It hasn’t been on the track in about a year, so the brakes need to have brake fluid added and bled. Although there is still tread left on the tires, they will need to be replaced as they are at the end of their life. There are a number of holes in the fiberglass seat for the mounting of weights, as well as some oil/rubber stains on the underside.
The kart is well-sorted and balanced – a blast for any kid to drive.

Regarding cost to ship to Austin, my guess would be $300-400. Minimum age for cadet class is generally 8.
