Default Sport Exhaust

Does the Sport Exhaust option on the new Panamera actually increase horsepower or is it just a sound thing?

it's just a sound thing as far as i'm aware. none of the reading i've done so far suggests that it increases the horsepower.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I didn't order it and was just having second thoughts. If no horsepower gain than I don't really need it.

that was the conclusion i came to as well. although i prefer the look of them over the standard e-hybrid pipes but, in the end, the sports tailpipes weren't available when my order was locked in so i'm stuck with the standard hybrid ones anyway.

A lot of money just to get a sound impact! But then again, at this price it's easy to just throw in another $2-$3K without thinking about it too much I guess.

On all Porsches including Macan, 911 and Panamera, the Porsche Sport Exhaust only enhances the sounds, but makes no difference to power.

I had it on my 991.1 C2 and it sounded great.

It was not an option that was available when I ordered my new Panamera 4.

I am now hoping that the Sport tail pipes will soon become a retro-fit option, but I don't think I'd go to the extra expense of retro-fitting PSE, as after 4,000 miles, I like the sound of the standard exhaust :-)
