Hi Ajriches01
I see you got your baby. V nice.
U have the rear entertainment says like me, do u get chance to use it.
I was thinking of e hybrid but bottled it and jumped for the 4s diesel and have this massive grin every time I drive it.
I haven't figured out the ins and outs of the mobile. Anybody got any good tips. I use an iPhone and it doesn't support LTE whereas my sons samsung does.

I started off using the personal hotspot on the phone but got tired of having to set it up every time I got in the car. Now I just get in and go and everything just works.

Morning all. I got a data sim from Vodafone, as Thor says, much easier than faffing about every time and relatively cheap. It's a must with the rear entertainment so you can download on the go. You have the choice now of sitting in the front and enjoying a massage or catching-up on your TV watching in the back. It really is a slick system, even the baby enjoys a bit of peppa pig in the back (I have a holder that slings on the front of the back seat (if that makes sense..).
Google maps on the main screen also looks fantastic and so far works well. I'm not sure if it uses Google to route though or just the map and traffic info and then Porsche nav to route?

yes, the 2017 models have an embedded sim card for access from Porsche connect so the app can show you fuel level, car status etc but this Sim cannot be used for mobile data. it would've been nice considering how much these cars cost for them to have free mobile data (the Tesla S comes with free mobile data and a free spotify account! ) but it is Porsche so nothing is free.

Porsche said they would give one with a free 3 month trial of something like 2gb a month which may be ok if you don't connect anything else to it. For the sake of £20 a month, great to have a mobile hotspot that you can really go to town on the data and get the most from the car's connectivity.

Hi David
I am in Surrey and got a new 4S a couple of weeks ago. Delighted with it.
Agree with others that a data sim is the way to go to get the best from the PCM.
Especially with an IPhone.
I got a free one with 3 months usage with my car.
