Default Should I avoid high millage Panamera Turbos?

My wife has been longing for a Panamera (the 970.1, believe it or not) and there is a few came up locally. In particular there's a 2011 Panamera Turbo, but it's high mileage at 80k+. I have strong confidence in Porsche engineering as long as they are regularly maintained. But that question always comes up in my mind, how high is too high?

No experience w/ a high mileage Turbo, but it seems if you buy a high-mileage example the price should reflect a steep discount - thus allowing for add'l maintenance costs. Often these high miles tend to be highway driven which may be easier on the car.

I assume you can get an incredible deal as I found a fantastic bargain on a PTT w/ less than 30k miles on the clock w/ all services performed and documented. Best of luck w/ your search!

As long as the high pressure fuel pump has been replaced ( they almost always fail) It was a recall item for several yrs.
Next is air suspension. Early models are prone to leaks in the system. That's a big ticket item.
Early 970 turbos also have problems with front suspension bushings wearing prematurely or leaking- be sure to check if those have been replaced.

Lastly coil packs always go bad. Check to see if those have been replaced.

Good Luck

Thanks guys. It's asking $45k but I think it should be lower given its more than 80k miles. I don't know if I should trust KBB as it said even pristine condition shouldn't be more than $40k

Also,
keep in mind you will need a healthy maintenance/repair budget going forward.
Every time a Panamera turbo goes into the dealer for maintenance its always over 1k no matter what they do to it.

Ask me how I know!

Maintenance is key. Any car can have issues, not everyone will experience defects or failures. There are some common items but if it's made it that far, probably in good shape on a lot of items. I'd make sure the fluids were changed regularly (oil and pdk). Accessory parts, there are a lot on the Panamera and they can fail but most important is the mechanical stuff. I'd recommend a PPI just to understand any issues or wear that you might not notice.

Are you buying from 1st owner? You can assume if someone could afford the new Panamera, he would have money for proper maintenance.

I saw the car and it's great condition, but decided to move on from it as there' a lot maintenance not done with the car that I would be responsible for if I purchase it.
