Another question about new Panamera
Why does the base Panamera weigh 4,000 lbs, and the Panamera turbo weigh 4,400 lbs? There can't possibly be such a large weight difference simply due to the V8 engine vs V6 and having an extra turbocharger right?
I feel like I would be very happy with a base Panamera with a mild number of options vs a much more expensive Panamera turbo with many options.
400 lbs is a lot that will make the turbo version less agile and fun to toss into corners

I have a 'base' Panamera 4 with AWD (obviously) rear axle steering and Sport Chrono. Loving it. Really couldn't justify the 4S, let alone the Turbo ;-)
My Panamera weighs less than a Macan GTS.

I did a bit of digging on the specs and standard equipment lists from the USA car config site, and found the following:
I don't know precisely what adds what weight, but that's what I could come up with.
- Panamera: 4001 lbs, 3.0L V6. RWD
- Panamera 4: 4079 lbs, 3.0L V6. Adds AWD
- Panamera 4S: 4123 lbs, 2.9L V6. Adds 10mm larger front brake rollers
- Panamera Turbo: 4398 lbs, 4.0L V8. Adds larger brake rotors, larger tires standard, larger wheels, adaptive air suspension standard, PDLS standard, electric steering wheel adjustment, walnut interior, alcantara roof lining, 14-way seats standard
I don't know precisely what adds what weight, but that's what I could come up with.

That's a good bit of research. :-)
78 lbs or 35 kgs or less than 2% doesn't seem too bad a weight penalty for 4WD.
